Modern Wine Wall Racking Designed to Grab Attention
Revamping the space involved creating a modern wine wall design consisting of triple deep racking installed in the top half of the wall. The wall mounted wine racks are perfect for the small wine cellar because they do not occupy floor space.
The bottles are stored with the labels facing out, allowing easy perusal of the wines. Flipping the bottle to see the wine description will not be necessary, preventing the disturbance of the sediments that have settled on one side of the bottle. When the sediments are disturbed, the texture and flavor of the wine will be altered.
Wooden Wine Racks
Below the metal wine racks is a wooden racking with a marble countertop for decanting and serving wine. The homeowners placed a small wine barrel dispenser in the middle of the countertop. The Coastal team added a drawer below the countertop, intended for storing a few wine accessories, and some solid diamond bins for bulk storage.
Sophisticated and Insulated Glass Wine Cellar Door
In addition to insulating the walls and ceiling to prevent air leakage, the wine cellar door must also be insulated to help achieve the ideal wine storage environment needed by wine to preserve its desirable characteristics.
The glass front consists of three doors to provide easy access to the wine bottles stored in the modern wine wall display and wooden wine racks. The Coastal team used thermally insulated glass to prevent condensation formation.
When the humidity goes too high (above 70%), moisture will build up and trigger mold growth on the corks, wine labels, wooden wine racks, walls, and ceiling. On the other hand, when the humidity gets too low, the corks will become brittle and reduce in size. It will allow an unwanted amount of oxygen to seep in through the bottle and mix with the wine, resulting in wine oxidation.
